Global Philanthropists Council Met on Philippine Education

Members of the Global Philanthropists Council (GPC) met with a panel on the state of Philippine education last February 28, 2005 at Makati Shangri-La Hotel. Present during the forum were Secretary Butch Abad, Senator Mar Roxas, SAS President Margarita L. Delgado, SAS Vice President Lizzie E. Zobel, Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala, Rina Lopez-Bautista of Knowledge Channel, Milwilda Guevara of Synergia.

Sec. Abad outlined the state of Philippine Education. Lizzie E. Zobel presented the SAS Reading Program and shared its commitment to solving the issues of our educational system.

The 14 members of GPC arrived in Manila last February 24 for a “learning visit”. Concerned mainly with Micro Business, Health and Education the team visited several on-going projects throughout the Metro Manila area.
