SAS Welcomes New Executive Director
and Staff
Sa Aklat Sisikat Foundation welcomes its new Executive
Director, Ma. Teresa Rosario “Beng” de
Villa. She plans to put a more corporate structure
to the SAS Foundation and her strong financial, corporate
and entrepreneurial experiences are assets that she
brings to SAS. Ms. de Villa replaces former SAS Executive
Director Marge Macasaet-Barro who has resigned since
May 2004 in favor of spending more times as a mother
to her three young kids, and to pursue a career in
consultancy and entrepreneurship.
Ms. de Villa joined the SAS team officially last October
5, 2004 after 23 years of corporate experience for
various financial institutions. The desire to move
in a development management direction and the challenge
of promoting literacy amongst public school children
motivated Ms. de Villa’s motivation in joining
SAS. She enjoys reading inspirational and self-help
books.
SAS Foundation also welcomes a new staff - Connie Solis.
Connie joined SAS in August 2004 with corporate work
experience gained from working in a Japanese firm
and publishing work experience in an international
magazine based in Hong Kong. The desire to serve Connie’s
main reason for working with SAS. Connie’s strong
financial background will be an asset to SAS.
